That would be great but I'll take any old pishy way to win to be honest

Unfortunately it doesn't look like we have a 'decent keeper' to replace him with.

The manager and The Sporting Director have got a massive decision to make in the next fortnight, spend beyond the budget perhaps for another keeper or keep the status quo in the hope one of them come good and risk the consequences of 15/16 where the NO1 position was pivotal in our relegation.

Surely tae feck these 2 keepers cannot be of the level of Sromnik and Zwick! I would even put my neck on the line and say i dont think they are of that level or is there a dearth of international talent in Finland and Australia!

It'll be interesting to look back on this in 6 months. But would just say this, an old friend of mine scouted a new goalkeeper for an English club. The keeper he recommended was signed and started with a nightmare few games which included quite a few bad mistakes. The club was Man U and the keeper was De Gea.

Ive had a look at the fixtures and think if we don't win on Saturday our next point will be against M/well end of Oct. Hope Im wrong with this but we need to have a big improvement and start picking up points.

One thing for sure is that we will see a good keeper at Tannadice. Who gave Carson the black eye and why did he want away so quickly? I read somewhere that Brighitti played 87 games in Oz and conceded something like 126 goals in them.

Hopefully, the reserve games get played at Tannadice and in the evening so that supporters get the chance to go along and see them. As I mentioned in the transfer news thread United fans want to see the reserves along with trialists. This not giving Eriksson a chance is pathetic just like getting match fit with others who aren't playing first team football. Years ago did we put players out on loan? No we didn't we had the reserve league. Think tanks have provided the square root of phuck all. How is playing games at St Andrews going to help you when you play games at Tannadice? All it is, is a box ticking exercise that does b***** all to help the players.

I have come to the view that Freeman is our best right back

The best left back I don’t know. McMann was poor last outing but I don’t know if better necessarily

    Watt perhaps needs a rest

I assume Levitt will not be risked

Maybe we try back to basics with classic 4-4-2 :

    Erikson

    Freeman Graham Edwards McMann

Middleton / Cudjoe Sibbald Harkes Niskanen

McGrath / Clark / Middleton and Fletcher

We need to be solid here and change things a bit compared to other matches

This is the most talented squad we have had for many years

Courts realised that McMann defended really well when he had a player like Niskanen just in front of him. That worked pretty well. Niskanen has a great engine and can get back to defend and get upfield to support attacks. But Smith and McMann both struggle at times if they get overloaded by 2 attackers, which to be fair even the best fullbacks do.

I agree Freeman is better than Smith but so far he and Niskanen can't get a game under Ross.
