To be fair, I think Bruce has now got them generally playing a lot better than last season ( not hard, I know) and surely some credit must also be given to him for getting Wallace and Okay in as well as rejuvenating Diangana. Maybe, also, if Dike hadnt been injured we might have also converted chances into goals and we wouldn't be where we are now? What I don't like or understand though is his continuing selection of Livermore and others old hands at the expense of younger players like TGH. He keeps cacking on about our decent youngsters and giving them a chance but pretty much fails to actually do so.
Of course we have a c rap owner and no money and so any manager we had would have their work cut out but it would be nice to have a younger, more dynamic, manager. Just cannot see this happening until we get a decent owner😞
It does beg the question 'What does Bruce see differently to the rest of us?' The vast majority of us, I would say at least 90%, make the same observations and comments time and time again. We've been over and over them ad infinitum. He continues with the same selections when it's crying out for change but he doesn't see it. He appears to have his favourites and nothing will change his opinions, even though it's obvious that they are not working.
If he doesn't alter his ways of thinking there is only one way that this club is heading. To be honest I'm losing all faith in him. Mind you, I wasn't convinced when he was appointed but I was prepared to give him a chance. My patience is now wearing thin.
According to Albert Einstein’s oft quoted definition of insanity, taking the same actions over and over again and expecting different results, Steve Bruce is mad! Maybe, though, he has listened to that thick t@rt Alex Scott who recently stated that the definition of insanity was doing the same things over and over again and expecting the same result! The BBC pays her for coming out with such gibberish.

Fair assessment Omeg buddy. Interesting to see both Wallace and Swift subbed tonight and rightly so, as along with most of the team they had poor performances. Also to be fair, I thought Phillips played ok and threatened more than Wallace.
Townsend was very much off form, but Dara and AJ defended ok. M O M maybe Yoku or Grady, albeit Button kept his clean sheet.
Worrying performance overall

I just thought we were plain poor tonight. Cardiff came with a game plan. Pack the defence and midfield to give us no space. Hunt down our ball players and rough them up. Try to hit us on the break. Waste time from about 15 minutes in. Trouble we had no plan or ability to break them down. Also our pressing evident in the Watford game went missing. Can’t think of many players who emerged with credit.
Okay was good first half - some excellent touches and vision ... but tired second half. Swift was so poor ... creative midfielder my a*** ... reminded me of Ray Wilkins with his square passes and no pace. Wallace had his first poor game ... just couldn’t get into it. Grant was shocking upfront ... no threat and not prepared to put his foot in. Diangana at least put effort in ... and a fair few tackles ... but was well shackled all night. Button turns me into a nervous wreck every time he goes near the ball .... luckily didn’t have much to do tonight. Livermore was .... just Livermore. Townsend and Furlong as error prone as ever. And the subs ... Mulumby, Robinson, Philips made some improvement last 15 mins. The Bruce brings Reach on to try to win the game .... you kidding me.
Can’t see this side going anywhere. Would be good to see some youngsters given a chance .... surely can’t do much worse.
Not a great night to be a Baggie .... we were so f****g poor.
Forest were bottom after 6 or 7 games last season.
They then brought in the right manager.
We don’t have bad players, we have half decent players and some good youngsters that a very poor and tired old manager will not play.
I maintain that the right manager with the right philosophy and with the sense to bring in a proper goalkeeper ( Foster would fit the bill ) and with the contacts to get us the right striker/s on loan would see us quickly reach ( no pun intended! ) the top six.
The manager and Gourlay are our immediate problem.
Both need to f u c k off poste haste!
If by some miracle we reached the play offs, how many of our current squad are premier league players? The keepers, fullbacks and centre backs aren't good enough. I have my doubts about the freebies in midfield. Clubs in this division are loathe to let players go free to a rival club if they are that good, and certainly not for free.
Our goal scoring is pathetic at this level never mind one higher. The name of the game is scoring goals, that's what wins games, not playing better than the opposition. Professional footballers should able to hit the target with the chances created than our lot do. What do they do in training.
Our manager is as adventurous as a vicar in a brothel.
In the season's we have won promotion we have always had four or five players who could hold their own in the premier. But I think only Okay and possibly Diangana are capable of playing at a higher level.
Even if we did go up we would bolster the squad with more freebies and crocks.
I really fear for our future.
