Paqueta is quality. Just look at his goals/assists for Lyon over the last two seasons. He often keeps Bruno out of the Brazil side and was called up 2 years before Bruno too

I hope we sign him or Maddison this window

I read a couple of articles about him in Milan suggesting problems like being slow, over complicating things, settling in off field issues but seems to have learned from the experience and relaunched himself in France well. My take on it was that he was destabilised when there was a change of coach.

Keith Downie reckons we're not interested in Paqueta this window

Our two bids for Maddison seem to contradict that however

There has been no mention made of Paqueta by the club or any reliable journalist all summer. Any tenuous links between NUFC and Paqueta seem to have been driven by fans who, knowing he is friends with Bruno, have put 2 and 2 together and got 11.

to be fair mate, EVERY transfer we have completed this summer has been out of the blue and none of the journo's or ITK people knew about it.

All eyes were on Henderson, yet we got Pope, Targett was said to want to stay down south, yet he is here, Botman was going to Milan, we got him. Yesterday there was a north east Journo saying we could NOT pull off a surprise transfer yet Isaak is almost done the next morning. Another local journalist has said all along that our budget for the summer was 50 million.

Lyon have turned down a £42 million bid from West Ham according to reports in France:

If he's going there it won't be on the cheap

Lyon to be fair to them have been very consistent that they want £50 million.

That should do it, I expect.

Edit: and just seen on SSN. . . they have rejected it as well.
