Do you know years ago I screwed down the letterbox. We didn't get any bills or junk mail for about four days. It came to an end when my wife heard a scrabbling sound outside and found the postman on his knees trying to shove stuff through the letterbox.

My original question was whether anyone knows how much is actually spent both in domestic fuel bills and commercial fuel bills in the U.K. each year?

What is the £ gap between last years average bills and the anticipated bills over the next 12 months?

Average household bills are mooted to be reaching £6600 by some point during 2023, at what point will this be getting closer to £10k I wonder?

It’s clearly becoming impossible for many people and for a lot of power hungry businesses.

The Tories are asleep at the wheel, I said weeks ago that it was a nonsense that a leader vote should take over two months.

This has seen a period of nothing happening and they’ve been allowed to get away with it.

Truss might as well announce massive subsidies for both domestic and business energy users because sure as a s h I t Labour will when they get in.

It might add £100 billion or more a year to subsidies energy but so what, the emergency is now and if it has to be paid back over generations then that’s fine.

You and I have been paying off WW1 and WW2 both of which were not within our lifetimes but were a necessity and we’ve not complained about doing that.

Same rules apply now, this is an emergency.

I agree Mick, I heard this week it would cost about £20bn to get us through the winter, when over £400bn was spent on the pandemic it pales by comparison.

Living in a mobile home we have LPG gas delivered. After the delivery in April it lasts until the end of September. Then we usually get topped up every six weeks until Spring. The milder the winter the better.
We don't use much electricity, they owe us hundreds of pounds, and we will see what the difference is when the new hike goes on.
