Don't really have a problem signing him. Thought he looked dangerous when he played us. However, 15 million is ridiculous. that money gets you some pretty serious talent in the championship or one of the other European leagues. seem to be a mental block when dealing for strikers for us.
Of those we have been linked with wouldn’t be disappointed with Broja, Brereton or Terrier

Clubs summer signings generally good, without stating the obvious a central striker is a " must ", not another wide / play anywhere, but a proper forward. We may not be so lucky next time if we dont.

What started out as a promising window is not becoming a bit frustrating and has slight echoes of last season but at least they addressed the midfield issue.

So we have sold 3 players for 97.15 mil and bought in players for 95.08 mil. Sounds like a club that will never hold on to it's best players if we never invest some of the TV money to strengthen our weak areas.

I too thought this was going to be a promising window as well Hopey.

I hope our transfer policy isn't going to be bring in cheaper players just to up their market price to sell on. We have done that in the past and it hasn't worked out well.

Not sure if they are being cautious because of the ground redevelopment but does seem odd.

For every place higher you finish in the league you get an extra 3m in prize money - 4 places higher not only eases pulse rates but pays for part of the player or on the case of someone like Brereton the whole player.

Hoping that they are not relying upon Joseph, Dean and Perkins to be able to step up and fill the gap.

Left back is just crazy not least as we let Davis go who is flying at Ipswich (not saying he would have done that in the prem) and so you would have thought they were going to fill the gap.

Maybe it is linked to JKA which has gone very quiet.

It just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense

all these linked players and this still smacks of the infamous "don't go to bed just yet" saga. Where the only thing that happened was we sold Matt Smith and think it was Dominic Poleon.

Would rather they came out and said we want to redevelope the ground so we need to tighten the purse strings.

Talk now that funds are tight or restricted due to ground improvements etc, that may well be the case, but a top, central striker should have been priority signing along side a DM, then other new players arriving as and when possible.
Huge gamble again if we dont, would be good to see either Perkins / Joseph / Allen get more involved with 1st term action
