Good luck to the lad, choosing us over Blues really is a no brainier, hope he does well, rather spend 300,000 on a young and hungry kid than 8m on a total waste of a skin in Zohorse

I’m reminded of the deadline day when we signed the wrong Paul Williams, Winston White and Kwame Ampadu.

    What a p I s s poor state we are in.

I am with you on this one bomber. The likes of Brentford buy players at this age for peanuts and some come good and can be sold on for a great profit and to finance other buys.

This is the market we are in now. My concern is nothing to do with this strategy but more the fact I have no confidence in our recruitment department to chose the right ‘rough diamonds’.

I hope he comes here and it all works out well good luck son.

His stats look ok, still young and improving year on year, 6 games 5 goals and 2 assists so far. It’s a gamble but imo better than chasing has beens. Time of course will tell but I have a feeling, or perhaps it’s the dodgy bladder…

This is a ‘we’re out of options’ transfer.
I think you completely underestimate the strength of League 2. And probably over-estimate Cleary’s ability.

If he could bang in 20 goals in that division, clubs would be queuing up to sign him, which I don’t think they are. And if he does get a loan deal, I don’t think he’d hit double figures.

Cleary was the star man in that under 23 side last season and some of them have gone on loan to league 1.

We’ve had plenty of castaways do well in league 2 as well, Morton scored 5 in 9 and Wilson was last seasons assist leader. Cleary looks better on our books than the pair of them.

I think you underestimate the quality of that u23 PL Cup winning side.
