Good that he's happy and hopefully we have him until the end of his contract. Seems very mature and doesn't just seem to be reeling off empty platitudes.

His talent and natural ability was easy to spot early doors , but his effort and commitment for such a talented player was and is a huge bonus.

Great to see the now universal love for our Portuguese star.

You're right he won't be but I hope the rest of his career is as good as he deserves it to be. He'll always be a Notts favourite whatever happens.

You’re right. He’s already a Notts County legend who will be remembered, fondly, way after his departure. We just need to appreciate him while we’ve got him.

    Haha what a legend.

I'll love Ruben whether he stays or goes. He seems like a cracking lad and a fantastic footballer.

This is what I love about Ruben. He's clearly an extremely gifted footballer for this level, but he backs that up with genuine commitment, desire, and work rate - and all with a smile on his face. This is a rare combination of qualities at any level, but particularly in the NL.

He's not done enough to be a legend, but we'll be thankful for his time at Notts when and if he goes

You probably have got to be associated with success to be considered a club legend. If Notts had never got out of tier 4 during Les Bradd's spell and he'd been poached by a higher placed club like Hull City circa 1973 and then we got a double promotion with Mick Vinter banging them in, I'm quite sure Vinter would have been considered a greater player than Bradd.

To have a player of RR's quality at this level and not even make a genuine challenge would be disappointing. Notts have got to do that this season if RR isn't going to be bracketed as another "what might have been" along with the likes of Adrian Thorpe, Gary McSwegan and Alan Judge.

Agree he's not a Notts legend, that label is thrown around far too freely.

And agree with UTM that it would be a real shame if someone soooo good for the division they are playing in didn't achieve a promotion for the club and himself.

He's absolute quality , he looked it in flashes on the livestream during the pandemic period in that first season and then was so consistent last season as his numbers showed. He was one of the rare few who turned up and performed regularly away from home.

Another quality Ruben has is that he’s a thoroughly nice bloke. I saw him with a group of Notts players having a coffee in West Bridgford. A guy at the next table left a laptop case behind and Ruben called after him, addressing him as ‘Sir’, and being very polite to a complete stranger.

I know it won’t get us promotion but I was thoroughly impressed with him. In fact, the whole group were a credit to the club. Should have got a selfie really but too shy!
