Luckily for Sam, Saturday's mistake didn't cost us three points so I'd be inclined to let that one slide.

The thing is, each of our defenders has probably gifted the ball to the opposition in a dangerous area at some point this season and presented them with a golden chance. Where we've been lucky is that few of those chances have been taken (going back to the first game of the season against Maidenhead).

This season, it seems that the opposition's best chance of scoring is from one of our own errors. The question is whether these mistakes are inevitable, given the level we're playing at, or whether we can learn to cut them out (it's not as if teams at the very top don't make mistakes when they're playing out from the back either).

He has his shortcomings, most do at this level. His msitakes are far quicker jumped on than his good work such as several good saves against Wrexham.

So basically the difference is last season we moaned regularly because we nearly conceded from passing it out and about at the back and this season we are conceding from passing it out and about at the back.

The complaints last season were a little premature but we got there in the end. If we can keep conceding on average only a a goal a game then frankly I don't care how we concede out goals.

I actually don’t think Sams that bad with his feet, not amazing but certainly not poor. If you watch any team do it and including the likes of City and Liverpool (world class keepers), they do make what seem horrific needless mistakes at times but that’s the risk their coached/instructed to do, risk v reward.

Exactly, for some reason seems to be an escape goat the last year, there’s always seems to be a couple of players that get it, which have been him and JOB of late.

He’s definitely got better, but there’s still these clangers in his locker, and we very nearly had one against Wrexham. After that he started launching it and we weren’t as effective. It’ll be interesting to see how Brad Young gets on if he plays on Saturday.
