Back to the original question ... How Truss has the gall to stay on after this calamity is beyond me. She won the Tory election based on tax cuts - preached to 150,000 members who are not representative of the country, She sacked her gullible Chancellor who was following her orders. She was always a wooden orator ... but she now adds lack of authority and credibility to the mix. It’s excruciating simply watching her on TV - the pregnant pauses when she was looking for her favourite journalists to ask questions. She is so plastic, lacking in any warmth and full of sound bites taking the art of not answering questions to a new level. For her own sake (and I am starting to feel sorry for her) and the country’s sake she should go now. But of course she won’t ... having worked her way up the greasy pole the PM role is the culmination of a life’s work.
