Another of Colin's favourites was "driven into the back of the net".

Always gave me a mental image of a car on the pitch!

    ‘Gerrit up the pitch’
Still shouted around me in the Kop every week, usually around the 20 minute mark, because we’re not 3-0 up.

I loved Uncle Colin, as a commentator, but there were times when it wasn’t clear whether it was Notts or the opposition that had actually scored.
That’s why I appreciate Stall. When you hear ‘get in’, you know it’s a goal for the Pies.

I remember Dean Yates screaming "YYYEESSSS" at the back end of the 2011/12 Keith Curle push for the play offs (Wycombe away?) and that was most unusual, not just for him but any co-commentator - it wasn't the done thing back then, it's only recently that they seem to be encouraging that sort of thing, I think Hodge or whoever is on the Fword comms does it, but I try and zone out when they replay Fword goals. A shame it didn't come in earlier as it would have dampened a lot of the criticism levelled at Colin, who probably - like most commentators - was trying as much as anything else to make sure he identified the scorer correctly and take a mental note of how the goal came about for post match summing up, rather than performing vocal acrobatics.
