There was another Steve Thompson that played for Lincoln and Sheff Utd but he was in the 80s

This Steve Thompson later worked for Sky but was dropped by them following a homophobia witch hunt

witch hunt is a strange term, from a time when people were accused of being a witch with little (if any was possible) evidence and then killed.
Nowadays we want a little more proof, and normally we don't kill the accused.

He was actually briefly dropped (for a month) from BBC Radio Lincoln after making several comments that could be deemed homophobic or ***ist after having had several previous warnings. There was no witch hunt, only one person complained and it was widely deemed to be an overreaction by the radio station bosses.

Would that overreaction be a BBC radio station by any chance? 😆

Yes BBC Radio Lincoln is a BBC radio station. The clue is in the name. Keep up Grist.
