Yep Org - Spurs & Mullery & also correct too WTF.

Both photos got passed around & started a debate within my Dads fan group on whose leg, sock & boot of the flying tackler incoming on Giles belonged to.

One bloke within the group actually collects vintage football-boots & reckons the boot belongs to El Tel as he endorsed the newly launched 1967 Puma King brand also worn by Brazil's Pele & Eusabio of Portugal at that time. He also owns a pair of Clarkes famed Puma Flamenco yellow flash on black worn boots.

This blokes got various Leeds players pairs of Stylo matchmakers Sabre boots, a pair of Peter Lorimers worn Adidas, a Giles worn Gola pair plus a Paul Madeley worn Puma King pair !

Amazing obsession or what - wow !

My Mum, Dad & Gran enjoyed your 'share' WS.
So thanks for that & wow he's looking great......

Good to hear the family liked it...

Had to look again at the 7-0 v Saints, they were like matadors that day, putting a Bull to the sword... great footballer, who could more than look after himself

Probably just as well for my bank balance, but I’ve never paid much attention to collecting match worn boots, although I do have a bright orange pair of Meslier’s (with matching gloves) that tie in nicely with a shirt of his I acquired earlier this year.

A fair number of modern players seem to have extra embroidered stuff on their playing equipment and these puppies took my fancy, especially as the ensemble appears on a Panini card (it wasn’t Mes’s best day at the office, but no need to discuss that further, eh?!).

Other than far too many shirts, I do have a couple of match balls and arguably my crown jewel is one of Billy’s international caps.

One of my favourite players growing up. Leeds could do with a player of his caliber right now. Also, don't remember him ever missing a penalty. Must have happened but I dont remember it.

Sorry to break the news Cherry but I asked my Dad about Giles & penalty returns and he informed me he missed one against Liverpool (saved by Tommy Lawence).

Checked it out and here's the report.

Thank you Monaco for that information. Interestingly, I did not know about that miss, as I was not a Leeds supporter back then. I became a Leeds supporter sometime in early January 1970. I was a schoolboy on my end of year break in Malaysia when I caught them on TV one Sunday. Our academic year was late January to early December, so that was the long break for me. Remember the commentator was Hugh Johns. I am blanking on the name of the show, but I remember they showed the entire match. Leeds just looked and played differently to anything I had seen. They just passed and moved the ball and dominated the entire game.
