Received the following from my supporters club secretary, some recent questions and answers from a recent session where the DSA Chair, Club SLO and JN met, thought it might be of interest to those not members of an affiliated supporters club.
a. JN confirmed that we will still be playing our home games at Dens Park next season and beyond. Only when the Steelwork at Dens is required at the new Stadium will we move out and groundshare. As we do not know when this will be or where we will play our home games it was suggested that at the next meeting with JN we should ask “when we do move out of Dens where does JN think we will end up”. It was agreed that this will be asked.
b. JN stated that in the future the capacity of Dens will be reduced but depending on what League we are in and who we are playing will dictate the number of spectators as areas of the ground will be opened up to accommodate larger crowds. It was confirmed that Dens has not failed its Safety Certificate.
c. JN confirmed that the problems with the pitch are weather related and DFC made the decision not to put on the undersoil heating for the Dunfermline Cup game as the cost involved would have been in excess of £15,000.00 – last year this would have cost in the region of £4,500.00. JN was of the opinion that DFC would have made a loss based on the ticket sales together with having to share the gate with Dunfermline. The Committee thought this was a reasonable decision others disagreed.
d. JB said that they pushed for a pay gate at Dens for the Dundee support in view of the problems encountered at the Ticket Office but were informed by JN that for varying reasons this will not happen. JN did however agree that DFC will have a look at the concerns raised when purchasing a ticket from the ticket office on the day of the match and it is hoped that all the supporter will have to do is ask and pay for a ticket rather than be asked what seems like numerous questions in setting up an account. JB stated that we will continue to ask for a pay gate even as a trial basis on a couple of upcoming games. There is also no movement on trying to be able to use an e-ticket system that other Football Clubs use due to Wifi problems. George McIrvine from Dee4Life confirmed that they had carried out a study on this and offered to pay for the installation of the equipment in order it would work Their offer was declined.
e. JN did confirm that some Players have had Contracts offered, no names no details, and as an overhaul of the Player Squad is likely to take place they could be taking a chance on this or it may work out to every ones satisfaction.
f. DC said that they brought up the Bring a Friend to a game scheme especially the short notice involved and JN confirmed that for next season DFC will look into this with the scheme going back to the way it was a few years back which allowed a season ticket holder to bring a friend to any game in the season. JN did however state that this could depend on the League we were in and the importance of the game.
g. DC asked if there was any way that DFC could assist the DSA obtain tickets for away games as a number of Clubs no longer allow sales at the DFC ticket office. Matter to be looked into.
h. JN confirmed that Planning permission for the new Stadium should be presented by the end of March 2023.
i. DC stated the DSA were still trying to support the involvement of Dee4Life with DFC.
j. JN advised DC and JB that his door at Gardyne is always open to the DSA.
