I suspect Ketts that this was the one you bought back in the day. I also bought the very same hardback and was all in with his ideas. I also bought all his follow up books, Gold of the Gods etc. Then along came a BBC2 programme called Horizon which debunked the lot.

My issue around debunkers is that they are usually protecting their own education background. The guy in charge of the Egyptian digs, still refuses to accept the Gobeckli Tepi site is older then the pyramids,which it is. There is scientific evidence but scientists don't always follow the truth.
They usually follow the money and tenure sadly.

What I will say is that I have always believed homo sapiens had been given a leg up by someone or something

This is the right line of investigation.
But can only be approached when you get rid of all your preconceived notions of who we are and what our future is.
Everybody has been exposed to falsehoods for a very long time.
