As before tell us then Laddo when things have gone our way recently , Starting from the munto takeover that was fake, the Coventry fiasco, the fact macclesfield should been thrown out as they didnt play the next season, a 50/50 we lose to harragate, the goal we scored after a few mins that was ruled offside against Torquay the offside goal that knocked us out against grimsby, and recently a penelty not given when langstaff was hauled over
And Davy says he doesn't hold a grudge![]()
Given the sums of money involved and the massive inequality in our league specifically, there is definitely a non zero chance that there’s some corruption involving players or refs.
My logical brain says this can’t happen otherwise it’d be found out, but then my logical brain also can’t work out how the ref didn’t give that pen against Daggers. I haven’t seen Wrexham’s goal today yet, but apparently it was er total football.
Have you actually watched that incident? Brooks dithers a bit, but he clears the ball before their player runs into his foot and falls over. Brooks first contact is with the ball, not with their player.
It's not a penalty, it's not even a foul. The ref should have simply played on.
If it was going to be found out, we wouldn't find out overnight, it would probably be at least a few years down the line. There has been match fixing related to gambling in the English game in the past, Grobbelaar springs to mind (which was heart-breaking, I adored him as a kid) and off the top of my head the power to floodlights was cut in a league fixture to get a game cancelled after somebody had scored. Highly likely then that at least as many incidents have occurred that have never been exposed or ever will be. Probably more likely as more money has become involved.
Not suggesting anything untoward is going on with the NL this season, just that Davy doesn't deserve the levels of ridicule he's getting on here, it's not THAT far fetched.
I saw a replay on a Twitter post before leaving for the game, and again on BT Sport at the ground.
It looked dodgy on the Twitter vid, it looked a clear foul on BT Sport. The Southend keeper goes to make a routine catch, and Mullin comes in to challenge with a raised arm. Mullin made no contact with the ball, but did make contact with their goalkeeper's arm. Surely that has to be a foul? I didn't hear any of the BT commentary, does anyone know what their pundits made of it?
