Maybe a small club but also a financially sound one

Selling players is what keeps us that way

It sounds like Viktor is a sensible kid. There are very few goalkeepers of his age playing so much first team football.

If he wants to keep playing his best chance is with us.

I agree, if he moves on to a bigger club to sit on the bench then his chance of international football could be cut short, and who knows where we could be in a year or two..........but dont hold your breath.

Definitely keep him for another season then maybe sell him if the price is right and we fetch another decent one in beforehand

I'd love to keep him and Josh Vickers, but are two top class goalkeepers a luxury we can't afford given money is tight and we need to spend further up the pitch. Vickers took up where he left off before the injury yesterday and maybe suggests we could/should cash in and reinvest from sale of Viktor while we can.
Absolutely hate these type of posts. I blame the likes of Football Manager etc. Back in the day there were never any conversations about who we should sell, only moaning like bitches when we actually did. It just seems to go against being a supporter IMO, treating RUFC like a game of monopoly. Any talk of reinvesting the fee is just moonshine, what it really means is weaken the squad and take a gamble. No thanks. He’ll go when he goes and it’s nowt i have a say in either way. Whinge over.

Sorry about that! Now back in the real world, money does matter - we spend enough time on here bemoaning the fact that we're the poor relations in this league. So IF there's an opportunity to make the team stronger, why not consider it. The Blades got £24M for a similar age keeper. Do I assume that if Spurs came along with a similar sum, your response would be the same? If not, at what level might you think it worthy of consideration?

Ha ha, wasn’t personal, just building up since we seemed to start with ‘shall we sell Pringle’ and every decent player since. Just seems our fans can’t wait to get rid of anyone half decent.

The difference with your scenario is that the buying club instigates it with an offer. Very different from us starting the selling process from this side like the post implies. We tried that with Steve Alabi and ended up looking right chumps. If someone had made an offer it’s a fair discussion whether or not we accept the bid. Without one it looks desperate.

Not that anyone is going to offer us £24m for anyone. If they did I’d drive them there.
