But the ones you may see are southern softie squirrels from Surrey Chalky.

Not in the same league as a genuine Cumbrian red.

In respects of seeing the tufty eared rascals the trip was a failure,I got to St. Mary's around 12.30 and I asked someone who worked there where I could find the evasive ones,Oh Tresco she replied,lovely where's that? It's another island and you have to get the boat over there,ffs so I'm not giving up yet and head over to where she said and the next trip is 2pm and takes 20 minutes,so unless the squirrels are there to greet me off the boat and I head straight back there's no point in going,hugely disappointed to say the least but the Scilly Isles was on my bucket list but the Tufty Club (who remembers that) meetup never happened and once again I've got my dohbts that they exist,every time I get close to seeing one there's always a reason that I can't,very convenient I must say

The trip to the Scillys was enjoyable though and worth doing but maybe an overnight stay would have been better,I would have loved to have seen one even if it was a southern softee version and no large amounts of cocaine could be found anywhere Alf to make the trip profitable

I'm going to give it one final go sometime in the year then give up for good because it's becoming a bit of a joke now and maybe it's just one of those things that's not meant to be

Heading home now because I can't sleep,never can in somebody else's bed but at least I will avoid the weekend traffic

Im making plans to spend more time over on the Scilly Isles this year and head over to Tresco where Ive been told by a very reliable source that there are red squirrels abound everywhere you go coz they cant escape from where they are and my quest will finally be over,it isnt just the ginger arsed urban myths that I am heading over there for but to also go on a swimming with seals experience,wetsuits,snorkels the lot in a beautiful bluey green sea and I can not wait,sixty five quid for the experience of a lifetime and well worth it in my eyes and from what I can gather its almost impossible for seals not to join in with you swimming

Chalky,I have a true tale for you about the Scilly Isles..My son went there with his wife for a long weekend about 12 years ago and was walking along a beach when they came across a big package that had been washed up on the beach,it was full of drugs so they carried it to the local Post office who locked it up in their big safe until the police came from the mainland and it had over 2million quids worth of drugs in it.Cant remember what it was,but he never got a thankyou or a reward for handing it in. Often tell him he should have brought it back with him. Lol..
So,keep your eyes peeled whilst walking on the beach mate.😁👍
