Mon ami do your own ABC of "New Rich Owners" who turned out to be pot-less, at lease ALK told us the business model they would pursue when they took Burnley Football Club on.

    I'll go first...

Despite what you think mon ami, I have nothing against Alan Pace and ALK, they are businessmen and saw an opportunity. Garlick is far more to blame for our precarious financial position, he wanted out and, as you say, starved Dyche of funds to make an LBO possible. I don't blame ALK for acquiring a PL club for an outlay of £15 million. Why on earth would they not ?

Nevertheless it remains a fact that we were debt free and now we're not.

We've left the Championship behind, but we haven't left the debt behind, that's come with us, hanging like a millstone round our necks.

I'm busy today but sometime soon I will research just how much each current EPL club is in debt. I think we will be at the lower end of the scale. I'm finding it really hard to see just what your fixation is with a bit of debt.

We had the Dry Powder Room rammed up to the ceiling with Wonga, a fat lot of good it did for us, but Mike & John are away and free.

I could be wrong but I suspect every club that's gone into Admin has been because the debt got out of hand. At the very basic level, it's debilitating for a club, because money that could be spent on the team has to be diverted to just servicing the debt, never mind paying it off.

It would seem that Burnley has come in with an offer far in excess of £8 mill but the Lions have knocked it back, Zian has no release clause. The most we have received for a player was £8 mill from Boro for George Saville, we bought him back for far less, and is now a regular ! st team player.

I’m not sure that would be true Claw - for several reasons really firstly in excess of 8 million would be a very substantial amount to you guys ( no disrespect) and secondly we don’t seem as though we’d have that sort of money to
Throw around on a player we don’t really know enough about especially at Premiership level - I could see us having a gamble on him at less than that.

It's what we do Claw, we always have, you stick to your guns and we'll be back with a better offer, and that probably still won't be enough.
