Ignoring (just for the moment) whether we think they would or could be good enough. The problem we seem to be running into at the moment, is the issue of player valuations. some of which are are somewhat skew-wiffy...

10mill knocked back for Jack Clarke... The lad hasn't played in the top flight much as of yet.... Not certain whether I would want us to pay any more than that for a player who is relatively unproven.

Same argument with Zian Flemming.

20 mill for Ian Maatsen is ludicrous. Liked him very much last season, but he ain't worth that.

I'm not overly sure whether 15mill for Nathan Tella isnt a bit over, again considering that he hasnt played in the top flight yet.

Just wish to point out that Tella has made 17 starts and 16 sub appearances for Southampton in the PL and has scored 1 goal and has 2 assists.

Sinkov summed it up perfectly in a post last week, when you arrive in the EPL everyone wants a piece of the action. Alan Pace is no muppet and he will not pay over the odds for players, of that I'm certain.
