Bet he didn't get many assists as he always looked to get in a shot a true goalscorer he had the lot pace aggression good header able to find space good anticipation
Remember when were all dancing that jig in the Kop?

The opposition fans would always give him stick, without realising it motivated him and he'd inevitably score.
He'd have been a nightmare to play against and something of a master of the dark arts. He'd never give his marker any time to settle, roughing them up on corners, backing into them, treading on their toes etc. One of, if not the, best players I've seen at Notts.
When you add Rodgers into that mix, along with Ravenhill probably so influential but didn't get the limelight.
Captain's along the back 5, two tough tackling CMs, wingers who could pick a delivery out and two tenacious forwards who could finish. Great team.
PS if it's Mullinspen it's definitely Rodgersoffside.
Having started supporting Notts in the early 90's Hughes was without a doubt the best player I've seen play for the club. His natural goalscoring instinct, positioning, timing, deception, movement, and technique were second to none. He made it look easy.
Agree with others in that he had more to give Notts. Keith Curle taking the number 9 shirt off him was a mistake.
What a team that Munto one was. The Mitchell brothers up front, Westcarr and Davies the creators, Ravenhill and Bishop the spoilers, and the solid defence behind them such as Kasper, Lee, Thompson and Edwards. A team full of leaders and captains.
