Scott gives Notts the lead on 68 minutes

Attendance 1,042 with 304 of those from Notts.

Even the crowd is taking the p1ss out of a certain player's propensity (9 times out of 10) to pass back. By the time the ball (after 30 passes) gets near the oposition box, the delivery is woeful, the opposition is comfortably in position to defend without sweat, and our CF has no space to work in, even if he got the ball early (some chance).

After all that huff and puff and monotonous possession from Notts, it was Boston who had one half chance. I don't recall Notts having anything to speak of.

Time to give good players their head and let them get on with it as they see fit.
Calm down it’s little more than a training exercise and to get minutes in players legs but you will have to show patience because it might take us until last 15 to 20 minutes to break teams down

2nd game where the trialist GK is not going ot get on at all. Why have him in the team and not use him at all?

I think he's only there in case Stone gets injured rather than a true trialist.

If Slocombe was fit, I would expect him and Stone to play half a game each.

Maybe but if that is the case is it not messing with his chance of finding a club

It does beg the question of whether we’ll have to recall Brooks if Sam isn’t fit by Aug. 5, as we’ll definitely need a sub keeper on the bench.

The fact we haven’t fielded our strongest XI yet does also make you wonder when the approach to PSFs changed so radically. You’d have to assume that most of the heavy lifting gets done in training these days, making the friendlies even more of a non-event than they used to be.

Probably about the time when players don’t play reserve team football. It would be harsh to train like a dog in pre season and play very few minutes.
