    The fight back in the four balls to tie the last three matches was arguably better than the drubbing they handed out to the USA in the morning foursomes. Bring on Day 2, but surely the USA will mount a stronger challenge than they have on Day 1.

    Wonderful start with great play by both teams. Looks good for EUROPE but as the baseball sage Yogi Berra used to say "It ain't over till it's over".

    At last the USA post a win but Europe extend their lead, needing just five more points from the remaining matches to win the Ryder Cup. USA will need to dominate this afternoon’s fourballs to stay in with a chance.
