And yet here we are, no longer victims of a gypsy's curse, and with possibly the best manager in the lower divisions, and still we have 'old school' moaners. Look at the whinging and whining on yesterday's Barrow fred. You'd think that rather than finishing up with a draw we had been taken to the cleaners.
I forecast a 3rd place finish at the start of the season and I stand by that judgment (although I admit to wobbling a bit after the Sutton game).
Come on, chaps, let's count our blessings a bit more and go easy on our defenders rather than constantly rubbishing them. By this time next season, if we can keep our nerve, we could well be challenging in the upper reaches of League 1.
Hang on challenging at the top of League 1?? Lerts walk before we run, in order to do that we have to beat teams like Barrow yesterday to get promotrd from this league, my prediction based on the evidense so far is a top 7 finish for notts, butt o be top 3 we must kill teams off quicker esp away from home

I struggle to understand how disappointment finds expression in such a scathing tone.

And then there's the selective scapegoating...2 guys who have to do the job of 1 and a half defenders because we play a back three, one who captained the club back into the football league and another who was the only one good enough to answer the call when the dream was about to be snuffed out. Two players essential to our playing style.
It seems to be something apart from disappointment and caring.

Luke wasn't happy at all at only coming away with a point and the way the team stopped playing after 20 mins, if he's not satisfied then why should the fans be. Especially those that made the long trip to witness such an inept display.

I kind of agree, fans are bound to be disappointed but it’s also about not getting too downbeat or negative about the whole thing as this group of players have never given nothing but their all….and usually perform very well. It’s just about having a bit of balance and perspective.

I thought those essential to our style of play were those that scored the three or four goals more than we concede?

Don't we play out from the back, with those players seeing more of the ball than anyone?

I don't struggle at all, in fact it's the way footy messageboards work. I don't know if you're one of those strange people who think it's weird to look at opposition forums, but if not surely you will have seen that it's not "only on NCM".

We all express ourselves differently, and very often the ones who moan the most are the ones who care the most.

Exactly its just one game- whilst we were disappointed we did not get the 3 points, and we should have done better, its hardly a disaster, WE MOVE ON

Just shows how far we have progresses over the last year, when we are disappointed with a draw, at to be fair at pretty decent Barrow side who will be in the top 10 at end of season , with a possibility of squeezing in top 7

Look at your predictions on the pre season thread, if you did not make one think of what it realistically was. For almost if not literally all, we are in a better postion at this stage of the season than we expected (hard to be anything different). We all know that some players in some games, could/should have done better, but that is true for all teams and players at all levels. Go back to 2018/19 and compare, we have over half the points we ended up with already, we probably spent more that season on players overall and to what end.
