Enjoy it anyway, well bring the noise like we always do.
At least you'll see a decent stadium tomorrow, one with 4 actual stands.

You're trying to rewrite history here, and even though Chesterfield might be your main rivals this is definitely your big day out. It's a fact that you regularly brought 4,000 'fans' to Meadow Lane when you averaged less than that at home.

Back then, half of them couldn't name more than two Mansfield players!

Not sure if you're trying to prove that we always cared a lot about it or that we didn't. You're kind of contradicting yourself.

We brought a few day trippers and the odd F*rest fan in those days. Now, it's STH only and selling out in 24 hours.

I'm not rewriting anything. We enjoy trips to Meadow Lane of course - the day out in a fantastic city, the atmosphere and friendly banter with you, and more often than not the points, but the 'rivalry' genuinely isn't stronger than against South Yorkshire teams and nothing like Spireites. Anyway, it'll be a cracker tomorrow. Hope you enjoy seeing a proper away crowd after those years in the conference. I know we did when we first came back.

I'd guess that "a few day trippers" was around half your support in those days, many of them didn't even know the words to the 'yellows, yellows, yellows' chant! It's your big day out because a day in Nottingham holds a bit more appeal than a day in Rotherham or Doncaster.

It's going to be a big one that's for sure. Mansfield have been cracking hot lately and our team's exceeded expectations significantly. I hope everyone has a great day at ML.

    Unfortunately we as fans failed.
Before the game and up until the equaliser the Kop made a lot of noise(and one idiot even shouted in response to a Mansfailed fan during the minutes silence)and the Pavis followed their lead.
After the equaliser for the rest of the game and bare in mind it was an hour(including half time) before Mansfield took the lead there was nothing from us and it was all them.
Then for the stampede when they went 3.1 and 4.1 up from our Supporters(the clue is in the name) was disgraceful and embarrasing, would they have left if we were 4.1 up ? it wasn't lack of effort on their part we were well beaten by a taller, stronger side with excellent tactics on the day.
For gawds sake lets grow a pair whatever the circumstances and stay behind the lads especially v Newport and Wrexham especially considering the injury list.

Why do we allow the opposing team to have a quarter of the crowd?

You do you pal. I'm not staying to watch Mansfield knock it around and their fans celebrate and goad us when they're winning 4-1. Some fans find something glorious in staying for every game until the bitter end and never leaving early - others don't.

It's my time and I'll spend it how I want to, I've put in my £24 to watch it and if I wanted to spend it reading the bricks at the back of the Pavis or spend it joining in every chant that's my choice.

The fans didn't lose us the game - the players did.

Thought the atmosphere was crap even Mansfield fans were average til it was obvious they would win, no problem with fans leaving a bit early.
