Overall Crewe deserved their victory, as MA says it happens quite often in cups, we just have to hope that over the season we put in more good performances than bad.

I can accept losing to anyone so long as you feel that the team gave the best that they could offer on the day. Warne says we didn't!
Their manager says they had a plan and it worked as they'd hoped, we didn't respond to it WHY! Surely we (both manager and players) are capable of flexibility which includes responding to the oppositions tactics or are we just a one trick pony working on the principle of 'it didn't work this time so we'll move onto the next game'! If that's the case that may or probably does explain our inconsistency. So are we saying we can't do owt about it........ *******s. We are supposed to have a manager who knows how to get out of this league and players who are allegedly pretty good so it's a bloody crap excuse to blame inconsistency or lack of player commitment. It's time DC kicked some passes!

I do wonder how much the captain actually has an influence in the modern game? I take the point that Hourihane doesn't seem like a fire up the players leader, but is it really down to one player to do that? Surely irrespective of whether they are captain or not any player with the personality can fire up the team?
Also was that the issue? I mean the team had plenty of chances and their keeper made some good saves, its not as if the team didn't try, Crewe had a game plan that worked.
Its something other than grit and determination, because after all we came back after going 2-0 down in the first game and have rallied after falling behind in other matches.
Your first point is possibly fair, maybe it is down to more than just a captain, the problem is, imo, that we don’t have ANY natural leaders. Maybe Bradley was the obvious candidate, but you can’t lead from a position of not even being a first choice player and allowing the squad to pick the captain was, I think, a bit of a cop out. Can’t imagine Clough, Mackay, Cox or Smith ever abdicating responsibility in that way.
That's asses not passes! Perhaps our passes are crap as well!!
You sound very passed off!
Lacking an on the field leader, to pick the team up when they're on the grass, Hourihane just isn't that person, he leads by example, unfortunately a bad one.
Warne needs to address this (amongst the other issues!).
Well we all know BC's pov, let the players have their say and then we do what I say! If the players ain't doing what Warne says then that's a worry!
