I know what I would have done ------and he did the same. I agree with your thoughts on his time at Man U, however, there may be something in his make up that alienates him from his team mates ---who knows?
I’d hate to say we told them So Sub - but we did

Reality is we could really have done with keeping him and we really need him now, seasoned professionals are what we are short of - and his work ethic if I’m honest.

    Come back Wout please ?

Not going to happen army88. Weggy's ego and aspirations go way beyond Burnley Football Club. He was desperate to leave Wolfsburg, we were desperate to replace Wood, all that will happen next is the whole sorry saga will be put to bed in January.

Maybe if we hadn’t *******ised him for having ambition first time around BT he’d have gladly played for us.

I’ve e said many times that bad players firstly don’t play in the premier league or internationally - they also don’t get asked to play at Man Utd and yet we had fans who created a hatred of a man for trying to secure his place playing in the World Cup the echelon of all football at the highest level.

When you read into it like that it becomes a little bit sad for me anyway.

For some reason army, many fans like a scapegoat, no matter what they do they will get it in the neck. I don't think it's just us, it happens everywhere. Recent ones at Burnley have been Sean Dyche and Wout Weghorst, the current one is James Trafford, with JBG running him close.

I've mentioned this before, when Paul Weller was playing for us me and my best mate and best man at two of my weddings used to have season tickets in the James Hargreaves Upper, our wives and kids always joined us and we had nine season tickets all in one row.

For whatever reason the bloke directly behind us took great exception to Weller, a misplaced pass or shot off target meant he broke out with a string of expletives. My mate warned him on 3 or 4 occasions but on he went.

I remember it like it was yesterday, we were playing Wimbledon at home and Weller scored a Worldie and off the eejit went effing and jeffing.

My mate turned round and launched a Mike Tyson "Special" and sparked him right out. The stewards turned a blind eye and happily we never saw the cretin again.

I'm not advocating violence but one or two of our "fans" need to run across my mate on one of his notorious "bad days"!

I think you are right Sinkov. Even Mcilroy was not free from it. "Can't go inside", "Messing about again"', I remember it well being a big fan of
    JM.

One of the interesting things for me was that the Dutch weren't averse to getting the ball forward quickly, even the keeper kicking out of his hands, and Wout won quite a number of headers to knock the ball on or held the ball up well with his back to goal to bring his team mates into the game.
He did not surprise me at all.
He looked quicker to me. We already have a player who makes runs but never gets the ball though.

We do TAP in Amdouni - I’m surprised as well under VK that we haven’t managed to find midfielders who release the ball when they see the pass - in fairness this has been going on along time at Burnley, I’ll get shot for this but Cornet when he started did it and in recent times the worst one was only the fastest man in the premier league ( in his pomp ) Lennon

People around me used to moan he was pants and Id watched him make 10 runs in behind first half and we never gave him the ball - as a fast tricky winger that must demoralise you eventually- I felt for him many times under Dyche and his rigid system.

Are you saying your Superhero VK's "system" is as rigid as SD's was army88?

No not at all BT - I’d like a balance somewhere in the middle tbh at the moment
