No used the nhs much(touch wood) but the care and treatment my eldery mum has had in the last 5/6 years has been good.I,m no sure about others on here but I have wrote my doctor aff these days.
No even sure his name and no been to see him in about 8 years. Heard its easier finding a decent mp than it is to get an appointment.

There is a NHS Scotland letter on the noticeboard in my local GP surgery on Islay
It states that if people have problems with their eyes they must not contact their GP surgery but instead contact their own optician or the optician on Islay who is based in Oban and only travels to Islay for appointments once every four weeks.
I mentioned to the receptionist in my GP surgery that the NHS Scotland letter about people on Islay having eye problems was no use as there is no permanent optician based on Islay.
The receptionist replied that everyone on Islay knows this.
I replied “What about the thousands of tourists who come to Islay for a holiday throughout the year. What are they going to do if they suffer eye problems on holiday”.

I suspect they would go to the minor injuries unit at Islay hospital as they deal with eye injuries and problems, they would get an initial check over and then take it from there surely?
