[QUOTE=Swissclaret;40409417 However, I do not understand some of the selections. Neither Tarks nor Keane are the quickest CBs so why pick JayRod who couldn’t outpace a cart horse and have Obafemi on the bench? Why keep selecting O’Shea who is a liability? Why bring subs on with 4 minutes to go? What are they expected to do?

Yes it mystifies me why he brings subs on with less than 10 minutes on the clock.Surely they need at least 15-20 minutes in order to make an impact.

I'm beginning to think all of our players are very much of a muchness, he brings subs on throughout the second half, but we neither improve nor go worse. We stay exactly the same, none of them make any difference at all. I think the last time we had a sub that made a difference was Benny at the back end of last season.

I am old in the tooth but for me, if you bring on a sub, then you change the way you play to fit the new player. If you stick with the same system, then what is the point of bringing somebody on - unless you didnt pick your best eleven for that system to start with?

Fresh legs is an overused term for me - these players a fit as a butchers dog - and its not often a player needs replacing for tired legs - in my limited opinion. feel free to disagree.

So - is VK changing the system when he makes substitutions? I dont think so - which would explain the lack of impact.

Good to see Foster back. But what exactly is Amdouni supposed to be? A No 10? A striker?
    Kompany is just an enigma!
Nothing he does-tactics/team selections make any sense whatsoever.
Anyone else in charge would have been "long gone" by now, but as its clearly obvious-he ticks all the (politically correct) boxes.
Worse still, he began to believe in all the hype and hero worship he received last season-his ego is sealing the clubs fate

Today game from a Burnley point of view was dreadful. I did not see one player in the Burnley team that deserved to be paid as a professional footballer.

Tactically we were poor, any Burnley supporter could have predicted what tactics Everton would use, had our management and coaches not watched a Dyche team.
With a team like Everton, with a slow back line, we needed to try and play through balls for someone to run onto, not high crosses from the wings, where their defenders had the beating of our strikers in aerial duels. We were desparate for a player similar to Nathan Tella, but that ship sailed last summer.

I certainly can't understand how anyone could think that O'Sh1te is a better prospect than Harwood-Bellis.

It appears to me that after 17 games we have failed to learn from our defeats and I cannot see that improving in the near future.

Does anyone know why Bruun Larsen is taking corners ? While McNeill was dropping them on Trafford's head at the far post and causing mayhem, Larsen's were absolute dross, possibly the worst series of corners I've ever seen from a Burnley player that I can remember. He shouldn't be allowed within 20 yards of a corner flag so inept is he.

It is not just corners Sinkov-it is any dead ball routine including throw ins.It is like none of the players want the ball thrown in to them.WTF goes on at Gawthorpe is beyond me.
It is not just with the ball but defending them we are also shoite.

We can't defend corners, we're not big enough, when Brownhill has to mark players towering over him you know we're fecked, I feel for Trafford, it's like Land of the Giants in front of him, a wall of them, and none of them on his side, imo he has little chance, he's easily blocked and there's little he can do about it when his own defenders are nowhere near big enough to compete.

Then why isn`t our giant Muric in goal when the manager knows the opposition are set piece specialists.I watched VK`s post match interview last night and it was a word salad.I really think he has lost the plot.

I'm not convinced Muric would do any better, he improved eventually but was fairly hopeless for most of last season. Imo it's the job of defenders to protect the keeper, but Trafford gets no protection at all and it shouldn't be his job to drag them out of the ****e because they're not big enough or good enough. I've now seen Brownhill marking Dawson and Onana at corners, when you have mismatches like that, it's not the keeper's fault if our defending at corners is shambolic, it'a always going to be.
