Im not having we were 7 goals better than vale based on performance. They smashed us for 20 minutes and should have scored several times. Possesion was 50/50 shots on target 12/14 in Vales favour, corners 3/6 Vales favour. Enough said??

2 games left to play this year and both away.

Would be brilliant if we can get 6 points from these games and have 44 points from 23 played and a top 6 league position going into the second half of the season.

Yep - it’s been said on here a few times about the role of the wingbacks.
Compared to previous teams using this formation they don’t seem to be doing enough going forward and sometimes are AWOL at the back.

Clinical from the Reds and a couple of excellent team goals, notably the second goal. Very happy with that. However, lets not kid ourselves, Vale have been absolutely woeful. They've gifted us time and space and defensively they're all at sea.

A chance to pick them off on the break in the second half and boost our goal difference me thinks.

    1st Half
Forget about the score line for a minute.

This is probably the best performance I’ve seen from Barnsley this season.

    Basically because.
They are working hard for each other.
The press from the front is far far better.
Defenders running forward with the ball.
There are runners getting forward from midfield.
The ball - especially diagonal passes - has been released much earlier - couple that with Barnsley players running forward from midfield and we are causing Vale all sorts of problems.

    Special mention to:
Kane - his best game so far this season - what a pass for the 1st goal.
Mael - brilliant defending - won the ball in midfield and set McAtee up for the 3rd.
McAtee - running into space and causing Vale all sorts of problems.

I really hope we don't think it's done and start sitting back.
We have played well but I think Jalo coming on for Cole (who has played well) with his speed and that space would terrify them to bits.
