The clubs at the top end of the Championship have benches full of players who would walk into our first team and they are able to bring on 5 top quality replacements. This must be a tangible advantage to the bigger/richer clubs and is just another way football has changed to the disadvantage of clubs such as RUFC imo.

Yes using Middlesbrough as an example they brought on Riley McGree, Matt Crookes and a few others. Most of those would walk into any cship team let alone ours

Disagree. When our first team is knacked after 75 minutes and we look to the bench for reinforcements, we have limited resources to choose from. the opposition bench is much stronger than ours and our bench is weaker than our starting 11. Our first 11 are not as strong as the opposition starting 11. So you have to presume the opposition bench is weaker than there starting 11 so any subs weaken the opposition as well as ourselves.

Do you really think this will stop the prem teams being careful with their spending. Not a chance

Not my theory at all. The quality of the bench of the top clubs do not weaken the starting XI because they can afford to have 16 players who could all be in that starting XI.

But it's all relative isn't it?! Weakening a strong team is not as disadvantageous as weakening a poorer team.
