The problem with the Houthis has been going on a good bit longer than that Islay. Obviously it's not a distraction from the Post Office thing, was only joking about that to start a discussion. Most responses have been sensible as well.

I see that Useless’s pal in Turkey who is also friendly with Putin is up in arms about the US and U.K. targeted air strikes against the Houthi’s.

They were lied to by the people that were put in charge to run the business.

They are guilty of trusting those people which in hindsight was misplaced trust.

The people responsible are the guilty parties in the Post Office and should be brought to book.

Due diligence never came into it then? Government didn't bother with that?

People in government knew what was going on - my opinion and I've no issue with you thinking otherwise. However I fully agree the guilty parties were at the top of the post office and they should face the consequences.

Sir Ed Davey who was the Coalition Government Minister for Postal Services should be also brought to book and stripped of his knighthood into the bargain.

Agree there is a worry about military action in the Red Sea. Suez was the beginning of the decline of British Empire. There is no way, in my opinion, that the strategies to take out Houtis attacks on commercial shipping will work.

It's knee jerk militarism that failed in Libya Afghanistan Syria and Irac and Iran. Heaven help us if we are supposed to be partners with the USA in this endeavour.

Start of decline of British Empire was when we decided to stand up to evil.

To the victors was never gonna be the spoils but had to be done.

My opinion, Suez was when United Nations and USA started playing world policeman.

Good guess but wrong, defending democracy in WW2 bankrupted the country

Couldn't afford an empire after that.
