At last an outbreak of common sense,
"Blue cards plan in turmoil as Premier League managers join backlash. Decision on trial has been kicked back to Ifab AGM next month as fierce opposition spooks lawmakers"
"Plans to introduce a blue card into football are in turmoil amid fierce opposition to the move, including among the Premier League’s leading managers.
As revealed by Telegraph Sport, an announcement had been due on Friday about the game’s first permanent new card for more than half a century as part of sin-bin trials at professional level.
But after the news triggered a major worldwide panic – including within football’s corridors of power – those plans were abruptly blocked.
Serious concerns about a revolutionary change that could still be introduced to the game in the coming weeks were also voiced by the likes of Jurgen Klopp, Mikel Arteta, Mauricio Pochettino, Ange Postecoglou and Eddie Howe."

Jurgen Klopp on Blue Cards and the clowns running football.
"“It does not sound like a fantastic idea, but I can’t remember when the last fantastic idea came from these guys, [or] if they ever had one.”
Spot on Jurgen.
Simple question - has the game improved as a spectacle since VAR and rule changes?
An emphatic “no” from me.
Technology for objective matters -did the ball cross the line, the ref for the subjective - was it handball. Yellow for a booking and red to clear off.
Works in the lower divisions and gets my vote any day on the subjective matters. That is football - not what is served up in the PL.
If it ain't broke why try and fix it?
I wonder why they went for a blue card, amber would have been more logical or perhaps black? If they want to stop dissent all they need to do is say offenders will have their right testicle removed for a first offence and leave it to the players' imagination as to what will happen with a second offence, dissent will disappear overnight.
There's only dissent in football because the refs tolerate it. Referees in Rugby Union, Rugby League, Ice Hockey, American Football, Basketball etc simply do not tolerate dissent and abuse from the players, so they don't get any. Simples.
