Never saw them but I loved Nights in White Satin, an absolute classic. They were never really one of my favourites, I was more into Yes, ELP, King Crimson, Floyd, Genesis, Hawkwind and The Nice back then.

Good choices, sinkov. I lived next door to Keith Emerson in the Bahamas. Super guy and lovely family. It was a sad day when he committed suicide.

That would that have been before his divorce I presume Swiss ?

Only ever saw him once, playing Preston Guildhall with ELP sometime in the early 70s.

Yes, sinkov. It was early 1980’s when he and Elinor were still married, with their two children. It was the time that ELP recorded “Love Beach” at the recording studios at Love Beach on New Providence.

He had a lovely boat called “Fingers” that had a brilliant sound system. You could hear him coming up to the dock from quite a distance!

I saw ELP only once at The Oval around the time of Tarkus. Great band.

Here you are Mr B, if you can take 25 minutes of the Captain and his Magic Band, I'll buy you a pint next time I see you.

For longest thread on this site I think this was probably The Corona Virus which commenced 24/1/2020 and ran to 3001 posts and 222,855 views. There could be a longer one but if so I don’t recall. The variety of topics covered on Turfites Talk is not just legion but legendary and subject only to the site rules laid down by Footy Mad itself and of course keeping a wary eye out for browsers of the snooping variety.
