To the folk that wanted to remain in the EU or rejoin.

Currently on first holiday abroad since the Covid debacle. Observations from the last week. Firstly I'm not in a place that would be bothered by our own British Lager louts so all the British folk we have met have been polite and courteous. As for the other 'celebrated' Euro folk. Well 5 years on from the last time here on the continent they still have no conception of queuing. Getting on a bus is still the survival of the fittest more akin to a brawl than a queue. Smoking in restaurants both outside and inside is something I would not want to go back to but it is widespread here. The Germans are still as loud and obnoxious as ever they were, with the French and Italians catching up fast. Although not driving here myself, having watched a lot of the antics on the road there appears very little courtesy for other drivers and some of the driving is ridiculously dangerous. The place is polluted with these electric scooter things flying around on the roads and pavements. Saw a couple of accidents. They seem to be able to go about 25 mph at least and don't get me started about the cyclists! For goodness sake I know we have our own problems here, but for ages I've been heart sick of the Euro nutters putting the UK down and bumming up the Eurozone to the nth degree. There is nothing I've seen in the last week to change my mind that getting out of the EU was the best thing we have done in the past many years and it disturbs me to think some political parties actively support rejoining and others hide their true agenda. Who want want to rejoin the corrupt cartel masquerading as the EU? Oh, the SNP do, therefore one of many many reasons for not voting for them.

Italy. No I'm not Islay. I've had a few cross words with him in the past but actually agree with a lot he comes away with. Not everything though!

Having lived in Europe and been home for about 6 years I recently decided to move to Spain, not Benidorm with the bargain loving full English breakfast brits though.

The interference on civil liberties here in Scotland and the wider UK has been growing and growing, govt think and political correctness gone nuts are part of the reason.

There were both negatives and positives about Brexit but they've already been lost in the mist of incompetence, lies and theft from Scot Gov and UK Gov. When Rich Sunk was announcing the general election it was ironic that some labour supporters were blasting out things can only get better. Sadly that's not true.

A depressing, but in my view a fair comment on the state of democratic government. As Rross pointed out very early on in the Covid Years, the way the Government bypassed Parliament would create a major problem for the voters. SNP have never listened to all Scots and so they were even happier to bypass Holyrood.

Greens are unable to think of economic growth that would involve creating manufacturing conditions that would allow us to compete on the world stage.

Lib Dems just seem too willing to sell their principles in return for Ministerial office etc. If they absolutely guaranteed that they would not join in any alliance I'd consider giving them my vote for thi election.

So much stereotyping in one post

All European culture is inferior to the always polite good old Brit abroad. Nonsense

All Germans are loud and obnoxious. Nonsense

All Europeans refuse to queue. Nonsense

Basically you just came across in that post as the typical Brit (usually English) abroad who expects everywhere to be just like good old Blighty. How dare they cycle or electric scooter around rather than drive - Johnny bloody foreigner needs to get himself sorted out before some poor Brit walks in front of his bike and gets hurt.

Hang on a minute and wind your neck in. Re-read my post and tell me where I use the word or description "all". I didnt. I only put down my experiences over the holiday. I'm nowhere near the typical Brit and go away to experience new things and to get a total change from home. I will reiterate a couple of points though. Queuing was indeed shambolic and in fact almost every time I tried to get on a bus any queue that had formed was ignored and in was in fact a rugby scrum to try to get on said bus. Many who were there first failed to get on. As far as these electric scooter are concerned they are a bloody nuisance here and far worse where I was. I witnessed accidents with kids as young as 10 or so charging around at way above the levels that they are meant to do no doubt having been 'doctored' as many are here too. Finally I cycle a great deal here and rented bikes over on holiday myself. The behaviour of cyclists here is not beyond reproach but it was far far worse in Italy. A very large proportion of the cyclists ignored traffic lights and signs and cycled way more 'aggressively ' than the norm here. To turn your final comment on its head it was much more sod you from the cyclists who aggressively cycled in the pedestronised areas where cycled were expressly forbidden.
So all I was doing was presenting my view of behaviour on my holiday. And furthermore I actually totally stand by my Germans comment. Maybe not all but darn near all were loud, aggressive, bad mannered bullies and I don't care who is upset by this remark.
