Agree, but... the "priority" last season was getting up straight away. That maybe gave a wee bit leeway to dismiss any other so-called distractions? Not this season ............. NO excuses... Rotate the squad if need be, but try and compete 100% in every game we play.
Hopefully Jim's allergy to cup competitions has been discussed by club and doctor and a solution has been found.
We can't win them all, but.. hey...the future is looking a LOT better than... well, for ages really.

I doubt the 1st 11 will be in place before the
League Cup fixtures start. And unless we get 2 or 3 more preseason fixtures in than we have done in recent years, this stage of the tournament will again be deemed 'preseason'.
I would hope that this season we get prepared as we can for these group matches and take this comp seriously. It's time we rediscovered our 'good cup team' reputation.
Champions League. Gonna be tough.
Apologies to those who already know, here's the fixtures

So Sunday 2pm, St Mirren at home in league cup, not much talk so far but think In hindsight Ayr and Falkirk are confirming our group was the toughest we could have got for that early in season as both have 100% records in the league so far
We are very much deserving therefore to be in the knockout phase
St Mirren have a strong squad so the fact they are playing now in Norway while may play a part we can't hang our hat on it helping us, we need to make sure we take advantage and have a high tempo start
They may be decent just now but they are always winnable game's for DUFC, tenth meeting in league cup, currently reads played 9 won 9 for Utd
Be interesting to see the team, might change depending I if Stephenson is signed prior, I'd be trying to get Sevelj in beside Sibbald until Doc is fit
Agree with all of that. We need that 3 in midfield and yes we need to set a high tempo like the first half in the Derby, they won't like that. They're decent but they're not Real Madrid, keep it on the deck and make their big lads run. Winnable, in fact I expect us to win this.
