I think anyone, including Howe, shouldn’t be wrapped in cotton wool. People come and go in any business and subordinates are seldom consulted about the appointment of their bosses!
It’s up to the club to do everything to keep him if they want (they clearly do) but if he still wants to leave then we can ‘blame’ no-one except EH.
I’ll be amazed if he leaves as I’ve seen zero evidence to suggest he’s thinking about it.

I sincerely hope you are right TopToon, Eddie Howe is the one cog in the wheel which would be more than difficult to replace.
