The club is evolving; we're entering another transitional period and, in any business, that can be unsettling.

I think the Saudis are ramping things up. With Amanda Staveley gone (and whilst it may be too strong to say they were sacked, I think they left earlier than intended), I think we're going to see more hard-nosed decisions being taken.

I think these new appointments are a sign of that and, although Eddie may not necessarily like it, I think they'll be good for the club. There's too much at stake to allow one man to have so much of a say over so many aspects of the club ((and he absolutely did up until these latest appointments).

So aye, there are a few creeases to iron out but we'll be better for it in the long run. I agree, though, it's a bit unsettling and the club need to pull things together in time to have an impact in time for this season.

Agreed. I get the feeling that the owners were not impressed with 2 things this season: the huge amount of injuries and the last minute nature of resolving PSR. The Tonali situation, however difficult to foresee will not have sat well too.
The comings and goings at the club resulted.

    Precisely Zip.

We needed that transition period from abandoned club to one where the fans felt the love. However, this ain't a social club or a retirement village.

The club is in the business winning football matches, with a view to winning trophies and competing in the biggest competitions in Europe.

There is no room in business for sentiment. Of course, we honour our heroes and those who become cult heroes.

However, it's time to get over the hangover of being desperate also rans.

The Minteh situation is a classic case.

It's brutal to be the best. Sacrifices need to be made.

We need to celebrate that ruthless brutality as a strength.

100% agree, we want to he a winning machine and see ruthless and progressive decisions being made. Sentiment and social club mentality keeps us in mid table. Many more great players will come and go so embrace it and no name is bigger than the club.

Great way to put it Raga.

As you've said before we'll see 100 Minteh type situations over the next few years.

Just seen Chelski ripped a new one by Celtic. Mandueke was lively in a ’Miggy’ sort of a way (bags on energy and intent but little end product). It was only one game but I’ve just gone off him a bit.
