Would have been better with commentary and graphics as it was difficult to work out the substitutions.

    Unbeaten away from home
All good and more competitive minutes for our players

Many changes in the second half so it was always going to be a different performance

Just read that Steve Evans got booked for remonstrating with referee over a challenge from one of their players….he also laid into the team at halftime against sheff utd…freindlies or not you can’t change big Steve .🤣..

Tobias liversidge was again the other trialist but only came on for 11 mins,so I doubt we will have anymore interest in him…I assume a decision will be made on Harry kite now too, its sounding like we are not going to be perusing that one.

Second half was poor by both teams but I was more interested in seeing individual players, especially the new lads, and seeing what they can do.

It's a training exercise at the end of the day.
    Agree with this.
Thought Grimsby were the better team for first 10 min then millers took control. Kite didn't do enough imo to get a contract. The big lad (young revell lookalike )trialist could be decent but I'm not sure he's ready yet, maybe 2 or 3 seasons time..
2nd half in preseason games are always stop start and usually makes both teams look poor. This was no different.
One worry I saw last night was set pieces. Take out the raggetts and hugills and we lack height in the squad. Plenty of league 1 teams have big burley players who could take advantage of this..

I thought Tobias looked lost in the other 2 games but thought he did ok last night. Not sure how old he is but looks like a few seasons in league 2 would build his game. May be worth a cheap year contract and loan him out

    Torquay 2 vs 2 Exeter

Upcoming opponents Exeter conceded two late goals last night in the holiday area derby.
As long as it’s 3-4 to us then it,s a great start and a first away win in 12 seasons

As I said I could only watch the second half and if we played better in the first half then good. There were times in the second half we couldn't get the ball and when we did four passes later lost it again, they played through our press, which wasn't done in a coordinated effort. Pre-season games with two weeks to go are more than just a training session, let us remember there are players out there playing to have a job. I wasn't impressed by what I saw and think there is a lot of improvement required in the coming weeks and months. I do like the young lad from Forest, he is strong and battles and has some pace, he could be a real find.

Said that after Saturday Osong he'd be in front of Hugill & Nombe starting up.front for me. JCH other starter up front. Osong could be the no. 10 SE says he's looking for. 4-4-1-1 formation then. Going Saturday see whose looking likely to start at Exeter.
