How did he respond when asked ...

Are you happy going into the season with the current strikers?
Will we definitely see another one before the window closes? Will that be a young player on loan or an established name?
How will you keep four strikers happy when you only play one up front?

He said wanted to add another forward and continually improve the squad. Nothing on the profile of said forward. Unless I’m mistaken, we’ve got three recognised strikers? Two of whom can also play in other positions in our most established formation.

Technically three, but two of those have played behind the striker mostly during the last two seasons and one of those is 36 while the other has returned from a serious injury and has never scored at this level.

He’s clearly an intelligent guy and on the face of it a very decent human being too. I really want it to work for him and if he’s fair with players giving decent feedback and direction then they should respect him.
My view it’s either gonna be a car crash or it’s going to be a great season, just a hunch.

Good luck to him...we like to give blokes a fair crack down here; un-Orstrayan not to..... it's when they are successful that we like to chop them down...tall poppy syndrome.

I watched the interview found it interesting not too many searching questions in my opinion. Anyway I was surprised when Maynard said he thought there were 15 teams in EPL2 that would be challenging for promotion, I would put that number closer to 8-10 teams. The one question about Southgate got me thinking Maynard said he thought Southgate had been successful in his reign has England boss. Success can be measured in many ways and in the EFL that means promotion. Good coaches are usually able to read the outcome of a game and change tactics/ formation when things aren't working (thus my comment around Southgate) I hope that the Management team will do that this season because it was apparent they didn't execute that choice towards the end of last season.

Southgate sat on his hands because he didnt know what to do. Or darent do what he should of done and pulled Kane and Bellingham in certain games.
Sadly Little Stu strikes me as a similar sort.

Exactly, hopefully we're not in for the same boring style of football.
