Bass - 7 - Excellent save from a first half free kick. Looks composed with the ball at his feet. Promising.
Macari - 8 - Thought he was outstanding. Defended well. Excellent run and a fantastic ball for Jatta.
Platt - 7 - Looks a solid citizen. Knows when to play and when to dump it.
Bedeau - 7 - Same as Platt. Shonky clearance in the build up to their second but a strong defender. Good athlete too.
Chicksen - 6.5 - A solid hour or so. Some decent crosses. Had to recycle possession backwards too much, but that wasn’t helped by a lack of movement in front of him.
Hinchy - 7 - Looked good to me. Tidy in possession and didn’t mind getting amongst it. An able deputy for Robertson.
Jones - 8 - Our biggest threat. I was encouraged that he was happy to go down the line, as well as cut in. Final ball lacked at times. Absolutely must keep him.
Crowley - 8 - Excellent. Just needs to keep being given the ball. Always wants to make something happen.
Grant - 6 - Thought he needed to move a little better off the ball to receive it off Platt/Macari. Too often stood behind a pressing midfielder. Plenty of time for him to grow into it.
Scott - 6 - Industrious but played too wide. When Tsaroulla is fit, or Jones plays LWB, you can tuck him inside a little more where I think he’d be more effective in a 10.
Jatta - 6.5 - Made some great runs but was never really looked for. Worked hard and looked strong late on. Great movement for his goal.
Robertson - 6.5 - Good to see him back. Was slightly redundant as we camped in their half but broke forward well a few times.
Tsaroulla - 7.5 - Thought he added great energy and a genuine threat from deep. Looking forward to him being fully fit.
Palmer - 7 - Wonderful to see him back. Can’t wait until he’s fully fit. Will add genuine quality.
McGoldrick - 6.5 - Great cameo. No one else in the squad would have or could have played Tsaroulla in from that position. Got plenty to offer.
Maynard - 7 - Setting up with a 4-2-3-1 allowed us to control 95% of the game. Subs made a real difference. Should’ve sorted the attacking left side earlier on. Lots to be happy about.
Pitch - 10 - Absolute carpet.
Pie - 6 - A nice range of not Pukka Pies. Plumped for Steak and Potato. Needed a little more gravy.

Bass - 7 - No chance with either goal and not a lot else to do, but just gives off a far more solid and composed vibe than anyone we had in goal last season.
Macari - 8 - Such a promising footballer, especially with his ability to play in two different positions. Solid defensively and a constant threat on the overlap in the second half, topped off by a great assist. Think he’ll be someone we’re worried about having to sell in a year’s time.
Platt - 6 - Think he’ll be good, but got a stupid yellow early and could easily have cost us in the second half. A little bit basic but we missed that last season, and he seems largely fine on the ball.
Bedeau - 6 - Would be a mark higher if not for the slight error leading to the second goal. Defence in general a little bit unlucky that the only two sniffs Fleetwood had in the whole game ended up as goals.
Chicksen - 6 - Is what he is. Never going to do anything to lose you a game, but never going to do anything to win you one. Useful squad player but clearly going to lose his place to Tsaroulla very soon.
Hinchy - 6 - Definite potential, but needs to look at how the tempo and intensity of passing improved when Robertson and Palmer came on.
Crowley - 7 - Very creative, but maybe slowed things down a bit too much at times, especially in the first hour. Obviously more influential in the more attacking position he’ll be able to play with the others coming back.
Grant - 6 - Something there and some lovely touches and turns, but seems to drift in and out of games a bit too much.
Jones - 8 - Like a man possessed after that lad booted him. Don’t really agree with the ‘he needs to be on the left’ thing, he’s good enough to be a threat wherever. You just want one of him to have on each side.
Scott - 5 - Not a wide player, experiment needs to end. Doesn’t have the pace to get away from a man or the bit of skill to create himself space. Just doesn’t have the tools to do anything in that position other than pass it back again.
Jatta - 6 - Loads of room to improve him and his all-round game is very raw, but he’s a handful and will score 20 goals this season if he stays fit.
Subs:
Robertson - 6 - Game state didn’t particularly suit him, but part of getting the team playing quicker in the second half. Will be an important player.
Palmer - 7 - So good to see him back, and getting clattered and coming through it fine when their lad got booked will do him the world of good.
Tsaroulla - 8 - Thought he was great, put some fantastic crosses in. Night and day from Chicksen in that position.
McGoldrick - 7 - Piece of absolute quality with the pass that win the penalty.
Overall, still not really any the wiser as to where this season is going. More than enough to be positive about and I think we look a pretty strong squad with everyone fit and available. Dominate games to that extent and you’ll win a lot more than you lose. Good character to come back from 2-0 down. But still conceded two soft goals to a team that offered very little going forward, and didn’t win the game.

I would give Jones 8.5 today, for me he was the best player on the pitch by some distance. Not all of his crosses came off (we don't have Macca any more) but the only way they could stop him was by fouling him, which the officials allowed them to get away with many times.
For those idiots calling Scott, He is not a left winger and never was. Maynard should play him in his natural central striking position, thats where he will get our goals.. We are forever playing people out of position. If i can see it, then surely this prat of a manager can also..
from the stream (at 6am my time), sadly wasn't there.
Bass 8 - didn't have much to do (why?) Wouldn't fault him for either goal. Strong on the long shot, the reaction stop, and the general box presence required today. Trying not take it for granted the difference it makes to the whole team having a solid goalie
Macari 8 - assured already and very effective especially when JJ went left side and he had to breathe life into the right. Knows how to shoot too, looking much leaner than last season. Not one that gets mentioned in terms of recruitment success, but super interesting player coming through.
Platt 7 - thought he was unlucky to get the first yellow, especially considering what JJ was put through, then lucky not to get a second! Still think he's v. solid and will get solider as we gel.
Bedeau 6 - not perfect today, but again I think he'll grow as the team grows together. Athleticism, commitment, attacking intent. Like. And liked it when he faced off one of the guys that thwacked JJ.
Chicksen 7 - thought he personally did quite well today. Just the left side didn't happen...
Hinchy 5 - not consistent enough for first XI yet imo, but like Chicksen, will do as squad for now/until he develops.
Grant 6 - showed some slick moments, but needs to be more involved than today
Jones 8.5 - such a leader in terms of tempo, intensity, and making things happen, it's hard to criticize him, but I thought he could have done better with some of his final product first half. Great peno.
Scott 4.5 - I think a) Fleetwood's right side defence was better than their left, b) he doesn't have all the skills to make this position his, c) Chicks and him left side just doesn't cut it, meant he looked meh today. I'm really still waiting to see him impact on league level games.
Jatta 7 - extra point for the goal. Often hard to judge the strikers leading the line because they depend so heavily on everyone else of course. I like how active he is in pressing and defence, but as a team I think we need an even better understanding of how to get him involved. Maynard?
Maynard 6.5 - I don't think some of the criticism on here is fair, yet. Look at the immediate difference when he was able to field his real first XI players: Palmer, Tsaroulla and Robertson. It's not all his fault that he's been having to patch up our left side.
Tsaroulla - first thoughts are that he could be the defining signing! Looks like he's going to give us real balance and threat both sides. Let's hope.
Didzy - think SM's managing his minutes more carefully. Made the peno. Looks a bit like he's raring to go!
Overall: Love the drive to come back from 0-2. As far as I can see from the last 30 minutes or so, our management, coaching, and recruitment are all fine, or fine abouts. It's getting our real first XI on the pitch that's holding us back. But that's only 2 (3) games in.
You leave Scott out, I’m afraid. He doesn’t offer enough of a threat when he has the ball - I don’t think any opposition is going to worry seeing his name on the team sheet, wherever he plays. Harsh, but we need better if we want to progress.
What’s also clear is that it would be crazy to sell Crowley - so much of our attacking threat comes from him. Shame he missed the chance when it seemed easier to score, but he’s such a crucial player for us - and also a joy to watch.
