Almost as crazy is the fact we still have Meslier, Gnonto, Bamford and Piroe all of whom I figured would be gone early.

Long season ahead. 3 or 4 injuries away from a relegation battle.
I think that's more or less precisely what I predicted, although I'm as surprised as you are that Meslier and Gnonto are still at the club (for now). I wasn't sectioned, just ignored, presumably those now joining the ranks of those who are "concerned" didn't think the 49-ers could be so stupid?

you did state your position on this. candidly, I just assumed that put as much money in the club as the 49's did would not be this stupid. Capitalism has some faults but stupidity is often eliminated quickly by the marketplace. They run a very tight ship in football. In addition, red bull doesn't exactly gravitate toward throwing money away either.

The one I can't figure out is why we didn't go for Szmodics? I understand Ipswich wanted him but i seem to recall he went for around 10 million? That guy scored goals for fun last year. Seems he has at least 2-4 more good years in him. we have not hat a pure goal scorer in years.

If the 49-ers sold up to Red Bull they would probably get much the same as they paid Radrizzani given Red Bull would be paying for thended fixed assets and the name, not the anticipated PL revenues. That being so, and them having realised around £120m in player sales, around £100m for a 12 months investment isn't so stupud, if short term asset stripping is the plan.

Red Bull, for all their faults, don't cut and run, no matter how much crap they might dish out to get what they want from a club in the long term

Didn't quite finish that! Was going to add that it might not turn out as I suggest, but if not then maybe the 49-ers Enterprises just are that stupid!

If true - surely we could have paid that up front and hi jacked it. I guess back in the land of ifs but and maybes.

Sunderland seem to be quoting 20m for Clarke so no chance of that either I suspect.

Burnley board reckon Benson is a cracking player but very injury prone - should fit right in with us then.

Benson played in 8 games in the PL last season totalling 110 minutes, once in the EFL cup for 27 minutes.

    And £25k/week???????
