On that note, I was reading an article about PSR in financial times and it was saying that the Saudi's are not in the business of coming in short term to make 200-300 million profit - means little to them really that much.

Which fits with your thoughts Rag.

Saudi recorded average oil production of 9.86 million barrels per day in the decade to 2022.
Average price / barrel over the 10 yrs = $75.255

So rough profit they've made in just the 10 yrs 2012 - 22 including the market crash of Covid where the price of a barrel of oil dropped to zero is:

$2,708,352,195,000 - I don't even know what that number is... 2.7 Trillions I guess. Mental!

Yeah so do you really think they are losing interest in a project they acquired for £305,000,000 & have already grown to £1-£1,3Billion

Newcastle United is now valued at over £1 billion ($1.3 billion), after its Saudi owners increased its holding by buying former owner Amanda Staveley’s stake, according to people familiar with the situation.

NUFC is a 'trophy asset' for them and one they want to be the very best it can be. That doesn't mean they want it to be beating Real Madrid in 2025/26 but by 2035/36 absolutely.

So the club as a business is 'an appreciating asset'. From an investment point of view the project is already a major success.

There is no concern from Riyadh or the PiF about the future of the club.

They know where they are going and what will happened. We just have to remember that it might take more time than we'd like but the future success and status as a Top European contender akin to Man City is assured.

Wich in proper norwegian translates to, the PL is one of the most corrupt business on the planet. Alongside norwegian salmon industry. But they are still a bounch of money grabbing *****s, so eventually, they will lock into it and let us spend OUR OWN money. Not money that some bank in the US or whatever owns.

Its just a mess. A mess with bo sense. There is only one word for that, corrupt. All from the top to the very bottom.

It is pathetic, like. Chelsea can already spend 4 fould more than non cartel clubs by following the rules.
It just shows the absolute greed in the game now.

Well I'll leave the 'Price of Fish' to the Hamburg legends of happy hardcore, rave and techno music Scooter & you mad Wegies!

When it comes to financial regulations in the game of football it's clear that the current regulations are not fit for purpose. Not that they 'need tweaked', they are wrong on a wholesale level.

The perfect scenario is for clubs to promote players through the academy to the first team '11 first team Geordies' to quote a legend.

The current model is diametrically opposed to that goal. Clubs have to sell their '100% profit assets' from their academy to generate revenue.

Not only is this bad for the fans and the identity of any club but it furthers the culture of players being no more than products on a conveyer belt churned out for profit. The human element, the passion of community which is the driving force behind every team in every city is so massively important.

Someone mentioned Chelsea. Their owner is a perfect example of how to game the system, use the rules to the full extend without a care for the value of the club, identity of the fans or the future of the game. A pure and simple money grab.

We can't let our national heritage, our beloved sport become that irrelevant commercial enterprise that is US sporting entertainment.

The lawyer who won Jean-Marc Bosman, the Belgian former footballer who's name is now synonymous with his judicial challenge of the football transfer rules led to the Bosman ruling in 1995 is currently working on a legal case against UEFA regarding 'wage caps' and PSR restrictions in general as far as I know.

So within a year or two the whole PSR control system brought in to enable the Real, Juve, Man U etc European Cartel to maintain their strangle hold on the lions share of the football wealth will come to an end.

In the mean time, PiF will work with 3rd party companies to secure excellent sponsorship and partnership deals to add commercial value the club.
