Thread: O/T: Barnet Manager Dean Brennan

  1. #11
From what I've heard Maynard and Brennan were very close but whatever happened at Wealdstone led to a serious falling out between them.

Barnet moved something like 5 miles from their old stadium to their new one. That's not a big distance to a club with a big fan base but for a club like Barnet you're probably moving a sizeable distance from 95% of your supporters. When you factor in that poor match day experience (who can forget the first post-lockdown away match where almost all of their staff were being used for a wedding reception in the away bar?) it's no wonder they struggle for fans. I think they want to move back to Barnet, it's easy to see why!

Haha crikey. Personally don’t mind a manager showing a bit of emotion but that goes wayyyy further than Ian McP saying football fans are a fickle bunch. He got a load of abuse for that, and unfortunately I imagine the Barnet manager isn’t going to get the response he hopes for from the stands next game. He’s likely just started his notice period with that interview.

Can't imagine Mad Dog whining like a *****. Even emotion (Kevin Keegan) can work against you in a bad way. Not going to end well I fear.

Perhaps the response from the players will be more important than the response from the fans. He stood up for them big time.

True, backed the players and the owner. Lose a few more games though and a good percentage of their 900 fan base may start starting away in protest. Sad times for Barnet. We’ve been there but delighted to be a club on the up again.

The National league looks a very tight affair this season, 8/9 games in and nobody pulling away or showing total consistency... Barnet just 2 off the top and the fans moaning is pretty hilarious really, I know as fans we like an old moan but as he said himself they are playing very well and by the way he praised his players I bet they all want to play for him, I will be keeping an eye on them this season as I have a sneaky 10 quid on them to win it out at 9/1 😀
