Thread: Our defence

In some respects I feel for Carlos, it can't be easy when you're in and out of the side against someone as reliable as Konsa. I do not rate Cash at all, the right hand side is a big problem.

Neither Carlos nor Cash are UE signings, both were signed by previous managers. Both signed with survival and stability in the Premier League in mind.

We are no longer that club, our manager has a different remit.

They are not diabolical players by any means, but we have to upgrade to move on.

Carlos is ok as backup, Konsa covering the RB position is a big problem.

Horrible all over the pitch today, mate, with Yuri and Em1 being the exception.

Ah, never rains does it mate?
At least Salah plays down our left, and Diaz flukes everything, so you can't plan for him.
Fk we should've bought a striker.

Last season we were defensively poor but scored enough goals to get away with it, lately we are averaging about a goal a game and haven't sorted out our defensive woes. Bailey and Diaby had good numbers last term, we don't have that now & Watkins gets all the blame - not sure this system works with Ramsey out wide & McGinn where he is, we lack any pace making us easier to play against.

Glad Kamara is back, would like to see more of Barkley when he's fit and maybe use Maatsen more to get in behind like Moreno when Emery first arrived.

I’m not blaming Ollie, the ‘Fk we should've bought a striker’ comment was tongue in cheek after I had been banging the same drum over the last few years.
I worry for tomorrow, with or without Ollie.

I know mate - I just think he cops way more stick than he deserves, class player getting little service and is the rotation doing more harm than good? That run we had from Feb to the end of the first season was a very settled 11 with a way of playing that got results - in a way I'm less rattled by the Carabao and Bruge games as several changes were made. Bournemouth we played well & their keeper made a lot of good saves.

We seemed to go into ourselves when Spurs equalised, like the Villa of old

We threw it away, yesterday. Error-ridden performance from the same faces, every bl00dy match.

Many players just aren’t good enough. Yesterday wasn’t a once-off, it was the 5th match in a row!
