Part quoting Steve Evans I haven't seen Christmas lights in October! We're lopsided I've never known a side with so few right sided players out wide & can take dead ball situations. With players we've got now if we're in touching distance of the top 6 come January that's making most of the squad available.

It’s been noticeable that SE has been in the coaching box instead of Rayner for the last few games too. I think we have a good nucleus of a team that needs tweaking. Totally agree that Holmes should start on Tuesday, I just wish he had scored today. He is already full of confidence but a goal would have been the icing on the cake. I’d rather have Wing in our team instead of Teihe. Only 3 points of playoff position. I’ll be happy if we are in a playoff spot by Christmas.

    10 Games in.

    1. We need a proper CDM and coaching to stop teams hitting the top of our D, we concede too much from it and we're not learning.

    2. It's clear that our entire forward line needs to be replaced end of.

    3. Getting to the middle 3rd then lump it doesn't work. As others have said here get some width - players who as Brecks and Les says will get in the tram lines.

    4. Powell is perhaps our only decent signing. I see a likeness to Frecks in him. But he needs to stay in the 10 hole, where Evans won't play him.

    5. We need a real captain. JCH is just embarrassing, did you even see him enter the pitch today - like a goddam boxer. Total self entitled narcissist. A leader needs to lead not look like a Sunday league Billy big bollox.

SE after game interview mentioned to the players at HT Christmas lights not being on 1st half for the home fans in response to the booing end of that half but on for them after the two 2nd half goals. My opinion they haven't been on all season incl' today.

Unfortunately at the moment this side is worse than all the sides who got us promoted. We need to strengthen in January and we will. Then maybe.....

We have to get rid of some players first who are registered in our squad. We might be able to let Osong go back if he's not getting game time. but doubt that the Pigs will take Wilks back.............

My thoughts are is that it's taken the fans 10 games to remember that we aren't in the Championship after being up there so long (2 years ). We can't expect Championship style football in L1. We had a mediocre start at this level last time around (10pts from 7 games compared to 6pts from 7 games this season) and then went on an 18 game unbeaten run in the league. Maybe the run of 3 we are on now is the start of something similar?

Let's not forget that towards the end of that 2021-22 season we had some rank performances too (fluked the FL Trophy final against Sutton, lost at home to Shrewsbury and Charlton and abjectly away at Portsmouth and Burton) and needed an Alan Lee like moment from Georgie Kelly (who in all honesty looked out of his depth even in L1 despite knowing where the onion bag was)) to finally secure automatic promotion when we were all dreading what the playoffs would bring.

    It's a 46 game season in L1, buckle up!
