We're not as good away from home as has been pointed out. But we are generally very organised as a result of most of the squad being together for 2 seasons and having the same manager over a longer period.
We're still waiting to put our best 11 players on the pitch as we're waiting for Mullin to get match fit again. He may start tomorrow and gives us an edge that we've sometimes been lacking.

It will be a right battle tomorrow. I'd imagine the ref will be busy and his red card will more than likely make an appearance.

We tend to do well in these sorts of games as we have a few battle hardened players such as Palmer, McClean, Dobson, O'Connell etc.

Yes I was a fan when we were sh!t.. I actually came to your old ground to watch us many years ago and seem to remember we got stuffed 3-0. We definitely lost the game. When I started following Wrexham we were in League One and could more than hold our own so in my mind we're back in the league where we generally belong.

Most Yorkshire clubs and fans in my experience are generally very welcoming and friendly, bar that Sheff Utd lot. They're not so welcoming for some reason. They took real offence when we almost beat them in the FA Cup a few years back.

Anyway looking forward to the game.
    Enjoy the game pal.
A couple of people I work with followed Wrexham when they were **** fair play to you now.
We still haven’t really got going yet but something has to give soon hopefully.
Let’s hope we batter you 😁😁

Always had a soft spot for Wrexham - club and town - and I was gutted when you disappeared from league for so long.
Wish you well every day... EXCEPT tomorrow 1🤣

Derbs, just revisiting this thread and you have him nailed. He's a master at using the right wording at the right time, for that you have to doff your cap to him.

I don't know what in the mix means, so I have assumed that means a top 10 place however I think 8th would be a more sensible boundary. I have then looked at the last 4 seasons how many points were needed for 6th, 8th and 10th place and then using points a game ratios, I have fitted those points to 21 games (On Christmas day we will have played 21 league games). i have used the average across all 4 seasons. The bottom line is we need to win 5 or 6 games out of 9 and pick up a few draws. This means we have to increase our win ratio from 25% to 55% (5 wins) 0r 66% (6 wins), just to be in the mix. That is a hell of an improvement, and what is going to change for that improvement to occur? The table is below:

End of season After 21 games
    Season 6th 8th 10th 6th 8th 10th
    23/24 76 73 65 35 33 30
    22/23 77 70 62 35 32 28
    21/22 83 76 73 38 35 33
    20/21 74 72 67 34 33 31

    Average 78 73 67 35 33 30

    Rotherham points after 12 games = 14
    Rotherham Points gap between 12 and 21 games 6th = 21 8th =19 10th=16

    * = Rotherham have 9 league games before Christmas day
    6th 8th 10th
Wins Required to close gap 6 6 5
Draws Required to close the gap 3 1 1

Win 2 more games than them above us between now and crimbo and we will be in the mix

Great stats Derby. An incredible improvement required and it's worrying that 2 of our 3 wins thus far required last gasp goals and one bouncing of Nombe's ar*e to find the net! At least a good chunk of your 9 games are going to be settled within 5 days.....L Orient and Stevenage. These games will take us to 14 played and way beyond the territory of the 'I'll judge them after 10 games'' theory. You feel that if something is ever going to click into gear, these are the games.

Would 4 points from the next two games be good? I think that's what we'll get

9 league games to Christmas, most of which are against teams around us. Obviously need to pick things up a bit because just over a point a game leaves us in the wrong "mix". We know from previous seasons that a good bit of form can be found at this level and will get us right up to the playoff spots - and it's not like the tier above where you won't (as Rotherham) be able to stick 4 or 5 wins together or go unbeaten for months.

However.... We haven't shown any signs of the kind of confident football that we need to do any of this. Goals have been hard to come by and I don't see that we're suddenly going to start banging 2 or 3 a game in. I hope Evans is right, but there's a lot of improvement needed in these next few games.

Stats don't get you points. SE he's got to get best out of this squad not have players he favours. Wilkes one of them. Hugill he's not a target man never been one while he's been here. Playing 4-5-1 will get us more points in games up to the January window I'm certain. Get Holmes & Hungbo giving us some width.
