If it wasn't for a tragic accident, then he would have never been near our club. I would much rather have the East Stand renamed after one of our league winning team...nothing against Eddie, but I think the Thompson name shouldn't be on our Stadium any longer. We have tipped the cap, to honour a good man.....but it's time to acknowledge a proper legend.
Would be happy to know he's genuinely skint but probably more just an opportunity for him to play the Hun pantomime villain and get paid for it by that rag.
Bankruptcyis just a scam to avoid paying your debts, like going into admin. Trump has gone bankrupt about 6 times.
yip if you think he does na hae a roosty maik.think again.
Was he not looking to buy into Newcastle Jets at one point? Should have maybe have done that instead of coming back to Scotland. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
Had a listen to Off The Ball from the 9th and it's all a bit Bizarre. He talks about how he got the debts down from Eddie's time from 7.5M to 1M.
He also says is one big regret is selling Stu and GMS but there was 500k black hole. As if he did but then didn't really need to sell them very contradictory.
Also mentioned when you guys are talking about the managers profiting from transfers that the manager in summer 2015 (Jackie perhaps) knocked back increasing a bids for John McGinn and Jackson Irvine.
Wegia really hated him 🤣
Forgot to add mentioned that he was trying to launch a chain of shops called Eddie's which failed and that's why he has filed for bankruptcy.
But has been down to a Liverpool game in recent weeks, so yeah bankruptcy for some maybe not as bad for others

Oh dear Jackie Mac, shows how wrong he got it after the sales in the January too as McGinn confirms Thompson's version
What's done is done but what a poor decision in hindsight
Its a shame that Jackie Mac cannot come out and reply to this due to the non-disclosure agreement. There are a few clues there that i consider points towards Jackie saying he didnt want to pay the money, not that he dismissed the player completely.
The way i read the latter part of the article though, was it Jackie who was doing the recruitment, or was someone else?
