Thread: A tribute to Pedro - The Footballer

    One of the few privileges of being old is to say that I saw Pedro from the start. The start was in the North Midlands League in which the reserves competed, and Pedro stood out for two reasons. The first was because of his skin colour, black players were a rarity in those days. The second was because of his ability, even as a kid he stood out in games against some hardened professionals. I couldn't wait to see him make the first team, and when I did he was a revelation. He wasn't big, but he was strong. As others have said, his pace and ability to read the game were his strong points. Pedro Richards will always be one of my favourite Notts players.

    Pedro was an excellent footballer who made the game at times look very easy.

    I agree with Elite he would certainly be in my top10 Notts footballers.
