I do think we only needed 3 strikers at the start of the season but I had my questions marks over Scott, only based on he?d not done it at this level before and it couldn?t be foreseen off field issues he was to encounter.
These are the challenges for all teams playing one up front, if anyone can list the number of premiership teams that have 2 quality back ups I?d like to hear it, have Man City even got one now after selling their back up in the summer?

We needed more strength in depth up front in the summer - that was blindingly obvious when we flogged Langstaff.

The ?bed-wetters? were ruthlessly crushed by the apologists as needlessly negative but we?ve all seen it?s the truth.

Ho hum. Change required in January or it?s another year in League 2 for us.

Brown is not prolific enough to replace AJ if he picked up a long term injury and Scott well he?s not gonna get another year extension so just get rid in January along with Hinchy both are. It up to it.

Another year? We have just got back into League 2. Next season would be our 3rd does that warrant a crisis for the bed-wetters?

I would absolutely love an upgrade on Scott in the squad . When playing a single striker most of the time it is hard it get a quality striker in who in essence is going to be 3rd choice! Would they be happy with that? Can be justify the wage on the bench? Can we get better than McGoldrick?

I agree with Jacob, need to get Crowley in the final third more, all you're going to get in January is another Scott/Brown, no hit man is going to come to play second fiddle.

Exactly. I never get the Langstaff replacement comments? He was our No1 talisman in a set up where we’ve predominately played 1 up front for 2 seasons, the new talisman is Jatta.

Then the challenge is having a couple of decent back ups. With Didzy it’s a bit double edged in that he’s still a fantastic player at this level and has openly said he’s there to back up Jatta but on the flipside his age can bring injuries.
Scots just had a bad time, never got a run before his injury and obviously has struggled this season mentally. I would certainly not rule out he can score goals at this level.

SM will see him every day and have to make a decision whether he’s going to cut it for the rest season, if the answer is no we have to bring someone in.

As you say if your a decent striker, you think well they’ve got Jatta who’s scoring record is extremely good, an ex prem striker that can still do it and they only play one up front and for that reason it won’t be that tempting for many decent strikers out there.

I said in the window ideally if we could get a 10 that could play as a 9 if needed that would be ideal.

At this stage there are some parallels to last season which many would feel was somewhat underwhelming.

Need to see us hammering home promotion contender form in the next couple of months.

So to date on Didzy that?s talking rubbish. However it definitely caught up with us at Crewe no doubt about it nobody could anticipate having Jatta McGoldrick Jones Crowley all out at the same time. No club is going to impress without their best two goal scorers and best two assisters.

Of those four**** games you credit him with, time he spent on the pitch includes 7 mins against Tranmere, 10 mins against Fleetwood, 22 mins against Grimsby, 12 mins against Chesterfield and several other games where he didn't play the full 90.

He's played 90 minutes for us on just six (of six****) occasions in L2 this season.

He was 'not in squad' on three occasions.

Sadly, until we can field a full team, it isn't going to happen. We've limped along and accrued more points than many thought we would but I think most, would agree that the stats, paper over some less than convincing performances.
