    Good starting line up.
Other than there?s no goals in it.
Watch them go and surprise me now.

Personally I?d drop Phillips, Dunn and Russell.
    For Lofthouse, Fabio and Nwakali.

Not sure you can complain about lack of goals and then want to drop Phillips for Lofthouse. I can see your argument for the other 2 but Lofthouse doesn?t deserve to be starting, in my opinion.

    Pathetic.
    Quickly losing patience.
Seeing the same problem time and time again.
No strikers in the box providing space for a pass.
Humphrys and Dunn doing what they usually do - running wide.
Cos they ain?t out and out strikers.
I might have said that before.

    Russell off.
    Cosgrove on.
Yes I know he?s not up to it - but something might bounce off him.

10/10 for Killip but it’s the same old story, if you don’t test the goalie you’ll never win matches.

We can count ourselves very unfortunate to lose that. Plenty to be encouraged about because that was a tough game against a very hard working and organised team who will probably contest for automatic promotion in my opinion.

I thought our defence looked the best it's been this season in terms of organisation and communication. Mael was outstanding and my MOTM.He was calm and assured, stayed on his feet without being rash and diving in as he is sometimes guilty of. The classy way he continually brought the ball out of defence was what started many of our better attacking moves. Roberts and Earl were strong and aggressive and got rid when they needed to with no dithering about. We restricted a team in Wrexham, who, on their own patch, are full of goals to long range shooting. Yes, the last 25 yard effort has found the net but its a great strike to be fair. Criticism for letting him travel so far unchallenged. Russell has ran out of legs and the lad has left him.

Overall, we passed the ball quite well at times with Russell and Connell pulling the strings in midfield but we were just not quite at it in the final third of the pitch. It's nearly, but frustratingly not quite there is it.

We deserved at least a point tonight but it was not to be. Decent performance though lads.

I thought we started the game very well but still didn?t exactly look potent in attack. We were just half a yard quicker than them but from about 30 minutes in, I thought they were better. It seems whether we are having a lot of the ball, not having any of the ball, pressing high or standing off them, we offer very little attacking output right now.

Jalo looked sharp last might and on another night, could?ve scored but I suppose he was fresh legs. Phillips, DKD and Humphrys were all poor I thought. The first 2 quite anonymous really and I?m thinking like when we realised Connell and Craig can?t really play together as they are too similar, I wonder if it is the same with Phillips and DKD? I still think DKD is Phillips? long term replacement.

Their goal was pretty poor how much time and space he got. We did play 120 minutes on Saturday whereas they didn?t play, I wonder if that made any difference?

Birmingham on Saturday will clearly be our toughest home game of the season and I?m a bit worried for it. It?s not often I?m worried about opposition at this level (that?s not me being all Wednesday massive by the way!), I just look at the players they have and our performances lately, particularly at home, and think if we don?t start the game well, it could get ugly.

I think we need to start with 2 up front with that being Humphrys and probably Jalo (maybe Cosgrove against his old club with a point to prove?) in place of either Phillips or DKD.

Sporting Director Sormaz will no doubt be grafting 24/7 to get in a much needed striker early in the transfer window.

Cosgrove had a two game purple patch against Bolton in the Play Offs and it gave rise to the notion that we could be effective this season without spending on a striker by using Cosgrove and Watters as a lethal combination up front.

We are constrained by a 7 to 8 million pa deficit in turnover and we probably need to sell before we buy. Phillips first in line

Last night at Wrexham was yet another example of any chances we may create not being converted. If the club do nowt abart getting in a striker, probably on loan, our prospects are not good.
